Located right on Whyte ave and just off Gateway is a historic building that houses dozens of local Albertan artists. The Old Strathcona Arts Emporium is a space that welcomes anyone who wants to showcase their art with affordable rates and retail support. Inside you will find that it has become home to painters, photographers, crafters, jewelers, furniture artists, upcyclers, and makers of all kinds. Within the first 30 days of being open, 40 artists have signed up to be a part of this market-style, open 6 days a week Emporium and more sign up everyday. It is a magical place, and the artists that sign up can feel it right when they walk in.
Old Strathcona Arts Emporium is a year round retail location supporting and promoting 100+ local Albertan artists and craftspersons. Flat rate space rental, weekly sales reconciliation and disbursement of 100% vendor sales with no commission make it affordable for any and all artistic entrepreneurs to offer a wide variety of treasures at many price points to the general public with one convenient checkout. Artists/crafters are also welcome to add their creations to our online store at no additional charge. The Emporium is owned and managed locally providing vendors the opportunity to set up their displays, price their creations and leave the rest to our paid staff. We also have classroom space for artists to share their passion and expertise for a reasonable hourly rate.
