Sasha Grinnell was born and raised in Hinton, Alberta. Growing up surrounded by the Canadian Rockies provided an abundance of inspiration. She has a strong, unique love for nature and has developed a passion for animal rights and conservation. She loves hiking and exploring which provides opportunity to learn new ways of capturing the beauty around her. She also enjoys a variety of music which all are a regular source of artistic influence. She considers herself a commission artist as she is always open to new ideas and creative experiences.
Sasha began her artistic journey with drawing and has since expanded to photography, painting, and digital art. She loves to develop and expand her horizons, but her preferred medium is acrylic painting. She continues to broaden her talents and loves the challenge of a new design or technique.
Sasha attended the Red Deer College Fine Arts Program in 2005 but most of her experience is self-taught. Sasha has been displayed in many locally owned businesses throughout Alberta. This includes locations around Red Deer and Calgary with appearances in the Red Deer Living Magazine and the Red Deer Advocate. Sasha also shared her talent with a local author in a new children's book series.
Sasha has recently moved to the Edmonton area and is very excited to get more involved with the art scene in this local area.
