Roleza Jean Viernes is a contemporary artist with humble beginnings in the Philippines. She was known to have extra-ordinary artistic talent as a young child and has discovered and developed her skills through constant practice through the years until she took off to take a civil engineering career. It was this field that brought her to Canada and helped plan and build Edmonton and Ontario Transportation Infrastructure. Her success in the engineering field and motherhood to 4 children has absolutely took 30 years of her time away from the canvas, until recently she rediscovered herself back on canvas under the artist name "Lexa".
As an artist, her early works in her teens and twenties were focused on portraiture and stills. In 2018, being mesmerized by the beauty of the rockies and lakes of Western Canada and the colorful fall of Eastern Canada, she started to paint landscapes with oils and acrylics, varying her styles from wet on wet impressionism to more realistic layering of details. Some of her works in acrylic involve florals in heavy impasto medium. As a part time artist she has created close to 100 paintings since May 0f 2018. She intends to retire from engineering works and build her art portfolio as a new career for the rest of her life. She intends to build her portfolio with Canadian Landscapes and wildlife, Seascapes, florals, stills, abstracts, portraits and nudes.
