Michelle Amber is an Edmonton born and based artist. She has been drawing for as long as she can remember, filling sketchbooks with portraits and doodles. She received a scholarship for art to a program at the Red Deer College called Summerscapes in 2007, and it was there that she developed an interest in painting. She later got a job at a local art store, and with access to endless art materials and a wealth of knowledge, she was able to broaden her skills and begin an endeavor towards building a portfolio.
Michelle works with a wide array of mediums including oil, watercolor, acrylic, ink, and gouache. She finds inspiration in whatever she is interested in at the moment, but most enjoys studying the female face and form as well as creating pet portraits. Her studio is currently located in her home in Edmonton, near the river valley.
