Saving items from the landfill is Mariann Taubensee's passion. After graduating from both Grant MacEwen and the UofA in Fine Arts her work has evolved over the years into the sculptural pieces she creates now using a process of glues and resin with found objects. Old bones, rusty nails and fencing staples, broken glass, even the odd toy are just some of the objects you my find hidden in her sculptures. She also has her own line of upcycled jewelry handcut from bicycle inner tubes. As Oscar the Grouch once said “just because you are trash doesn’t mean you can't do great things. It is call garbage can not garbage cannot."
