Julie Drew connects her faith and art. For Julie, art is an exploration into God’s creation and into God Himself. God reveals himself in His creation, both his character and his mystery. Art is a language of the heart and soul, coming out of the feelings and emotions as well as the intellect. Art, for Julie, is a place to connect with God and hear his voice, and her paintings, writing and songs are a way to share God’s words and His heart with others. Although Julie works predominantly in watercolor, she also uses mixed media with her own handmade paper. Additionally, Julie writes devotionals, poetry and songs.
Julie received a BFA in Pictorial Art from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma WA, USA in 1987 and has continued to pursue her passion in art since then. She has worked in the art community teaching and showing her art. Julie teaches Watercolor and drawing classes aas well as Art and Faith retreats about connecting with God through the creative arts. Her art has been displayed in many galleries and organizations, and has been purchased for private collections in Canada, the United States, Australia, and France.
