Garvin Chinnia

I am a painter about to begin my third year at Emily Carr University of Art and Design. I have been painting solidly for ten years or more, with a healthy mix of self-taught, mentorships, and now fine arts school to help me in my becoming an artsit. I work primarily in oils, and am fixated on human faces. In the paint my attraction lies primarily in colour and the shapes created by line. As a result, my work draws from representational sources never becoming pure representation. My interests also lie in the outdoors, especially in wetland areas and the little critters that populate them. But I don't discriminate, and anywhere that has green has love for me.
