Crystal Jones is a self-taught artist, with no formal education or training in the arts. Shortly after she graduated from University of Alberta, she was looking for new challenges. With the encouragement of an old friend who suggested that she get back into painting, after not having painted for more than 15 years. Crystal has been busy with the local art scene such as Art from the Unknown, Creative Edmonton, Whyte Ave Art Walk, Harley Davidson Motorcycle Market, and On the Spot Pop Up Market. She has donated some of her paintings to various charities such as Friendship with Operation Friendship Senior Society, Greater Edmonton Animal Rescue Society (GEARS), and SCARS. Crystal's paintings has been on display at various local businesses such as Aveda Salon, Expressionz Cafe, and Saol Wellness Studio. She took part of Edmonton's Art Battle on May 7, 2015, as a contestant. The Edmonton-based artist has created a wide variety of paintings ranging from modern, contemporary, abstract and landscape art. While Crystal enjoys painting different things or doing custom paintings, she is slowly making her niche in industrial-steam punk art, particularly with her gear paintings. Crystal revels in learning and experimenting with new techniques, color schemes and mediums. She is very involved in promoting her art work on social media mainly on Instagram and Twitter under @eissyrc. When Cryssie is not painting, she enjoys weight lifting, gardening, reading, discovering wonders in Edmonton, and wine-tasting.
