Claudette Pelletier-Hannah

I started painting in 2013. Now everywhere I look I see a painting. Will there be time to paint all that there is I now see?

My work is influenced by a number of factors, including my first career as a graphic designer.

I work from my own photographs, drive-by-shooting through the countryside. I am drawn to the jewel colors, dramatic compositions, prairies and skies, flowers and gardens – subjects I see as beautiful and compelling.

Like so many, I favor the Group of Seven and the Impressionists, but appreciate all kinds of art. I am still developing my own style and direction, though my work is typically expressive, demonstrating movement from vivid brush marks in acrylic paint.

To appease me and to please you – that’s why I paint.

“I am always doing that which I cannot do, in order that I may learn to do it.”
- Pablo Picasso

You will find me on the 83rd avenue street closure, between Calgary Trail and Gateway Blvd, south of McIntyre Park. This is my first time at Artwalk. I CAN HARDLY WAIT!
