Chris Riley

Chris is originally from the North West Territories. An athlete in her youth, Chris privately was A lifelong artist in some capacity. After years on the West Coast of BC she eventually found her way back to Edmonton in 2002 when she finally was able to pursue her art passion as a career. Since then she has had numerous group and solo exhibits. Her unique style is been sought out for several private and corporate commissions as well as a number of live performance paintings for Rotaries and other charities.

Chris finds inspiration everywhere and anywhere including studying the masters, post impressionist and abstract artists, art galleries, classic poetry and music, her surroundings, photo references and loads of imagination for her works which are constantly evolving. She paints full time from her studio in her heritage home in Parkland County near Spruce Grove. She study travels, including West Coast Islands, Spain, France, Caribbean and seeks out workshops and instructors that speak to her intention as an experimental artist seeking new discoveries. Most recently attending an experimental mixed media workshop in Sarasota Florida while staying on their sail boat. Chris and her hubby spend as many winter months as possible living aboard and Island hopping the Caribbean Islands and Florida.

Chris is a member of Federation of Canadian Artists, Night of Artists, International Society of Experimental Artists and Edmonton Arts Council.
